UNDER ARMOUR LAUNCHES ITS FIRST-EVER DIGITAL SMART SHOES IN MALAYSIA

Featuring the all-new Under Armour HOVR Suite Spring/Summer 2019 “Connected Fitness” collection which offers runners distance and connectivity like never before

KUALA LUMPUR, 14th February 2019 – Under Armour, the high performance sportswear label introduces its inaugural line of digital smart shoes in Malaysia – the HOVR Spring Summer 2019 “Connected Fitness” collection, which allows runners the chance to track basic statistics such as running distance, pace and splits, cadence and stride length during their run.

Held at the Under Armour Pavilion Store Malaysia, the launch was hosted by Under Armour Ambassador, actor and all time runner, Peter Davis, and it was attended by guests such as Under Armour ambassadors – actress and singer, Atilia Haron, fitness and model, Nana al-Haleq and TV host, Yasmin Hani.

The launch kicked off with a presentation on the technology behind the creation of the Under Armour HOVR Suite Spring Summer 2019 collection by Mr. Jason Ang, Under Armour’s Senior Merchandising Manager, from Singapore. Mr. Jason also introduced how the collection can be paired with the MapMyRun app which will benefit runners.

A special demonstration on a treadmill by Jeff Lau, Under Armour Ambassador and ultra-marathoner, taught guests how the Under Armour HOVR “Connected Fitness” footwear could be connected to the MapMyRun app to track and record running data. Jeff was one the exclusive Malaysians who got to test out the Under Armour HOVR “Connected Fitness” footwear during his run at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon in 2018.

The all-new line of the Under Armour HOVR Spring/Summer 2019 “Connected Fitness” features the HOVR Guardian, HOVR Sonic 2, HOVR Velociti 2 and HOVR Phantom SE. It also features an addition to the all-new HOVR Infinite – which features a neutral cushioned model with 29mm heel and 21mm forefoot (8mm offset), with the shoe’s foam designed to provide a sensation of 360 coverage for enhanced comfort – enabling runners to go further and longer with every run.
