Why Hike With Sandals?

Teva GC 100 Hurricane XLT2 Teva GC 100 Hurricane XLT2

Malaysia is rich in evergreen forests, jewel-blue streams, unique flora and fauna, and many interesting trails and fascinating undergrowths. Because of the variety of beautiful trails, hiking is also surging in popularity in Malaysia every year.

There are almost no seasonal changes in climate, however, the weather in Malaysia most of the time can also be fickle. The climate of Malaysia varies depending on which region you are in. Due to the unpredictable climates and various types of terrain conditions, hiking sandals come into play.

When you are going hiking where it’s really hot, or where you will have to cross some water, then you might be considering trading in your hiking boots for a pair of hiking sandals.

Even for those who prefer hiking boots when embarking on the trail, hiking sandals can be useful when you are on muddy or dampened terrains. Having an alternative pair of shoes will keep odor away and minimize the amount of stress put on them.

The Teva Hurricane XLT2 sandals are ultimate for changeable, especially tropical climates and gentle well-worn trails because they are so ventilated and quick drying, and can also be helpful when crossing a stream or two in the backcountry.

If you are worried about not having good arch support or cushioning, the Teva Hurricane XLT2 sandals come with great arch support and EVA foam midsole for lightweight cushioning which enables us to go about trails comfortably. You can never underestimate a pair of hiking sandals. The Teva Hurricane XLT2 features its in-house sole for more durability and improved traction.

Most of the time, the hiking trails can be unforeseeable. We love taking the Teva Hurricane XLT2 to the trail for its true-to-width fit. The adjustable straps are a lifesaver in the middle of a rough trail when our feet are in discomfort. The easy hook-and-loop closure comes on and off quickly. Additionally, a footbed that is already shaped to fit our feet adds to the comfort while also protecting them.

It is also important that hiking sandals provide toe protection. Exposing this area of our feet opens it up to rocks, roots, and other debris. The nylon shank of Teva Hurricane XLT2 stabilizes and supports our feet even on uneven and rugged terrains. The Rugged Durabrasion Rubber outsole stands up to abuse and supplies great traction.

In overall, the Teva Hurricane XLT2 is a great pair of sandals for tropical hikes. It excels in water activities and gives us a pleasant experience.

If you choose to hike in sandals, you should also be more careful of your steps. Due to the exposed toes, hiking in sandals can cause ankle twists, toe bashing, or snake encounters. If you are not accident prone, then you should be fine wearing them. Try the GC100 collection. This Spring 2019 footwear collection pays homage to the Teva birthplace, the Grand Canyon, on the Grand Canyon National Park’s founding 100 years ago.
